Turn Any Image Into a Squishy GIF
Drop in a photo, pick one of five squishy effects and download a looping GIF in seconds. No app to install, no account, and your image never leaves your browser.
Extra squishy
100% adorable
A squishy GIF is a short looping animation in which a picture squashes and stretches as if it were made of jelly. Nothing travels across the frame — the shape itself breathes. It widens, narrows, wobbles and springs back, then starts over. That soft, tactile motion is why the style turns up everywhere, from sticker packs to pet photo edits.
Squish GIF Maker builds that animation for you. Upload an image, choose an effect, and the Squish GIF Maker deforms the picture frame by frame before encoding a real animated GIF you can download and post anywhere. Everything runs locally in your browser, so there is nothing to install, nothing to sign up for and no queue waiting on a server to render your file.
Four tiny steps, about thirty seconds.
Choose a PNG, JPG or WEBP from your device, or drag it onto the drop zone. There is also a built-in sample squishy if you want to see how the effects move before committing a picture.
Pick one of the five effects, then tune the squish strength and the animation speed with the sliders. Loop count is up to you: play forever, or stop after one, three or five repeats.
The live preview updates as you drag the sliders, so you can find the sweet spot before exporting. Nothing is encoded until you press the button, which makes experimenting free.
Press Generate GIF and the maker encodes every frame in your browser, then hands you a .gif file. Save it, drop it in a chat, or use it as a sticker or a profile animation.
Every effect is a different kind of wobble.
Each effect has its own personality. Squeeze and stretch read as firm and springy, bounce feels like a little hop, rubber is the softest of the set, and wave adds a gentle rocking motion. The cards below describe what each one does to your picture.
The shape narrows and widens side to side, like a marshmallow pinched between two fingers.
Best for: Stickers and emoji-style reactions
The picture pulls tall and thin, then settles back into its resting proportions.
Best for: Tall subjects and cute character art
A springy up-and-down hop with a soft landing at the bottom of every cycle.
Best for: Pet photos and toy-like objects
A smooth four-phase jelly wobble: wide, squashed, narrow, and back again, with no vertical travel at all.
Best for: Logo marks and round shapes
A gentle rocking rotation that tilts the picture a few degrees each way.
Best for: Product shots and title cards
Not sure which one suits your picture? Generate the same image twice with two different effects and compare the results side by side. Most people settle on a favourite within a minute.
Everything you need to make an image feel extra squishy.
Five hand-tuned effects — squeeze, stretch, bounce, rubber and wave — each with its own timing curve instead of one generic zoom.
Upload, pick, preview, download. There is no timeline to learn, no keyframes to drag and no export dialog full of settings you will never touch.
The preview animates as you move the sliders, and it uses the same curves as the export, so the GIF you download matches what you just watched.
Choose a forever loop for chat stickers, or limit the animation to one, three or five repeats when you want it to settle down.
Your picture is read, animated and encoded on your own device. No upload step, no server-side rendering and no account holding your files.
A few of the things people use the Squish GIF Maker for.
Turn a picture of your cat, dog or hamster into a wobbly little loop that makes the roundest part of them bounce.
Squishy GIFs read as stickers in messaging apps. A forever loop keeps the joke going while the conversation scrolls.
Pair a photo with a short bounce and it feels like a card someone made, rather than a screenshot they forwarded.
A gently waving avatar catches the eye without shouting, and it still looks right as a still frame.
Give a handmade product a soft wobble and a static grid of listings starts to feel alive.
Test how a design behaves when it deforms, before committing to a full animation pipeline.
Small choices that make a big difference to the result.
Pictures with one obvious subject and a simple background deform cleanly. Busy photos make the wobble hard to read.
If your subject touches the edge of the frame, the widest part of the squish has nowhere to go. Crop with a margin before uploading.
Rubber and bounce suit round subjects, stretch suits tall ones. Pick the effect that agrees with the silhouette.
Very fast loops feel frantic and very slow ones feel broken. Somewhere around the middle of the speed range usually reads best.
Encoding happens in your browser, so experimenting is cheap — but every export writes a fresh file, so settle on a look first.
Desktop animation software can do this too, but it asks a lot of you: install it, learn a timeline, set up a project, export, then discover the GIF is the wrong size. An online squishy GIF maker skips all of that. You open the page, drop an image in and get a GIF back, and the whole loop takes about as long as reading this paragraph.
The usual trade-off is privacy, because browser tools that upload your file to a server are not really free. This one does not upload anything. Image decoding, the animation preview and the GIF encoding all run on your device, which also means no queue and no per-file limit.
It is a free online tool that turns a still image into a squishy animated GIF. You upload a picture, choose one of five deformation effects, adjust the strength and speed, and download the finished .gif file.
Yes. Every effect, the live preview, all loop settings and the GIF export are free, with no account, no trial timer and no watermark added to your file.
PNG, JPG and WEBP all work well. Clear images with a simple subject usually look best, and images with a transparent background make the cleanest stickers.
No. The maker reads your image locally in the browser, and both the preview and the GIF encoding happen on your device. Your image is never sent to a server, which is also why nothing is stored after you close the tab.
Yes. The maker encodes the animation frame by frame in your browser and hands you a downloadable .gif file. Pick the loop count, generate, and save.
Squeeze and stretch change the width and height of the shape, bounce adds a vertical hop, rubber is a smooth jelly wobble with no travel, and wave rocks the picture by a few degrees.
The squish strength slider scales the deformation, from a subtle nudge at the low end to a full cartoon squash at 100%. Lower values tend to look more natural on photos, higher ones on illustrations.
The GIFs you create are yours to use, including in commercial projects. You are responsible for having the rights to the image you start with.
Neither. There is nothing to install and nothing to sign up for. Open the page in any modern browser and the maker runs entirely on your own device.
